Russell E. TAYLOR
Russ Taylor ‘s background in the forest industry started in 1974 and encompassed forestry, manufacturing, marketing and consulting positions. Mr. Taylor gained hands-on expertise in marketing lumber and specialty products throughout North America and overseas, holding positions in sales, marketing, custom cutting and remanufacturing.
As an established forest industry consultant and analyst, Mr. Taylor combined his two leading edge companies in 2005, to create International WOOD MARKETS Group Inc. Mr. Taylor’s global consulting expertise lies in such areas as strategic and business planning, product and market development, and global marketing analysis. His particular talents lie in market and strategy development for commodity and specialty wood products, forecasting (supply, demand, prices 1-20 years), benchmarking and strategic planning. Mr. Taylor is responsible for hundreds of published articles and multi-client reports and is a sought after speaker with well over 250 presentations delivered in over 20 countries.
After obtaining her BA in 1994, Chari Gimenez went on to work in the field of research for various sectors of the Federal Government including Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND).
In 1997, Chari joined the WOOD MARKETS team and is currently responsible for forest products research, data collection and analysis. Her focus is on gathering North American and offshore industry statistics, which are used for our multi-client studies such as WOOD Markets MonthlyInternational Reports, as well as the company’s many consulting projects.
Barb has worked as an Administrator and Manager in the consulting industry since 1984, with the majority of her experience coming from the pulp and paper sector. She has a background in Human Resources, Accounting, Facility and Administrative Management.
In her current role as Business Manager at International WOOD MARKETS Group Inc., she oversees all these areas in addition to managing marketing, promotions and publication production.
Based in our office in Beijing, Ms. Jane Guo graduated from China Beijing Forestry University in 1999, majoring in wood science and technology. Jane has two years of work experience in wood products manufacturing and many years of experience in international consulting work. As a previous manager for a Chinese-based consulting firm, Jane became well connected with hundreds of quality Chinese suppliers and had the opportunity to work closely with a number of international firms, providing them with marketing, translation and research related services.
Ms. Guo has gained a strong background in the Chinese wood products industry and is current with trends and issues in international wood products trade. As a project organizer and highly accomplished translator, Ms Guo has visited hundreds of wood processing plants together with Russ Taylor and Gerry Van Leeuwen over the last decade. The focus of Ms. Guo’s work for WOOD MARKETS is providing high quality consulting services to international companies interested in connecting with buyers, sourcing suppliers, exploring opportunities, and/or investing in China.
Editor & Designer
Jane Keyes brings 25 years’ professional communications experience to her work as an editor, designer and desktop publisher. Her career began with Cossette Communication-Marketing in Toronto, and was followed by a two-year stint as a media buyer and production coordinator for The Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta. Since relocating to Vancouver, Jane has provided communications services to a variety of companies and associations, including the Certified Management Accountants Society of British Columbia, several forest industry consultants (Widman Associates Inc, Sandwell Inc) and public relations firm Campbell & Company Strategies Inc.
Jane currently provides design, editorial and typesetting services to WOOD MARKETS team in the preparation of newsletters, brochures, multi-client studies, advertisements, and other information pieces. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 1985 with a BA in English and Fine Arts.
